who are we
our mission

United Ministries’ mission is to encourage, support and train the members of the body of Christ toward spiritual maturity, thus promoting the manifestation of the kingdom of God on Earth.

our values

Bigger Than Us

United Ministries is a non-profit organization focused on servicing the body of Christ in the greater Portland area and around the world.  We will consider ourselves as a legitimate part of the Body of Christ and fulfill our role within His body.

Called and Qualified

We believe He has called and qualified us to freely release the blessings of the kingdom of heaven to all mankind and to all creation.

Our Role Within the Body of Christ

Through prayer, we recognize our particular function within the body of Christ and focus on being obedient to the call God has given us.  We endeavor to work within the grace He provides to accomplish our function.

Faithful to the Call

We will not judge our success on the perceived impact or lack of impact of our activities.  We will simply be faithful to the call/opportunities He places before us. We will remain mindful of our direction to ensure we remain on course.

Kingdom First

We will not focus on building our own kingdom, but rather further the manifestation of the grander kingdom of heaven to the earth.

Keeping the Peace

We will not allow ourselves to be in competition with other parts of the body, rather will endeavor to support them however possible.

Walking in Humility

In humility, we will maintain our beliefs while not imposing them on those to whom we minister.

Blessing through Obedience

Our way will be marked with grace, peace, and love.  Our firm belief is that we will experience blessings because of our obedience to His call.

Loving God Horizontally

We believe the core of every person is a unique expression of God, so by expressing love to people, we are expressing love toward God.

our roles

Four Main Roles of United Ministries

#1:  Our role within the body of Christ in Portland is to teach, train, and support saints who have a desire to grow in spiritual maturity and Christ-awareness.  The avenue to fulfilling this role will primarily be through the implementation of prayer and meditation practices, which happens within the heart and not with an overabundance of words.  The more we realize His constant presence within us, the more we manifest that presence when we come together. Teaching, training, and support opportunities may include any or all of the following:

Ephesians 4:12-13

…to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

#2:  Because most of us have walked the path of deconstruction (redefining what it means to be a Christian, wrestling with what to do with church, the Bible, the law, heaven and hell, etc.) and are on the journey of reconstruction, we will do our best to assist those going through the same process by displaying patience, wisdom, and empathy.  We will provide a safe place to ask questions and provide mentorship and training for those coming out of religious oppression.

#3:   We will support the widows and the orphans; that is, the people in our community and around the world who have very few options (the true meaning of poverty).  This may include leading meditation time with the residents of nursing homes, as well as giving money toward ministries in India and other nations around the world.

#4:  Support people in becoming the best versions of themselves that they can be. This may include classes for the enneagram, marriage/ parenting, culture of honor, etc.
